Custom Icons Full Path

Hi! Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I’m new to this stuff =p. I uploaded custom icons to my site (wp-content/icons) and renamed them the same as the original icons. I put in the URL in the custom icons area. I’m not sure how to put in the FULL PATH of the icons though. I put in what I THOUGHT was the full path based on what it showed in my control panel but the custom icons still aren’t showing up. Can anyone help?
