• In my footer I use a few Custom HTML Widgets to display the awards and logos. All of the sudden one of the widgets was totally wiped out (in column #2 of footer) and I can’t add or edit any of the Custom HTML Widgets. I can drag the widget to the widget area, but I can’t open the widget to make edits. I see there are a few other strings in the forums with similar issues, but I can’t find a solution.

Can you please tell me the exact steps that I need to take to get this widget type to work?

PS-same issue with the text widget, but I am not using that on the site anywhere, so not too worried about it. I just think it’s a part of the same issue.

Check your console for javascript errors. You might have a plugin or something interfering and breaking your scripts.

Samuel, thank you for your comment. I built back the site from the ground up, one file at a time to find the error. I looks like it stemmed from a script that was deferring the parsing of my JS. I am guessing something similar was added to the WP core in the most recent version and caused the conflict.
