• I use the Irresistible theme that, with the check of a box, I can have a custom homepage and put my blog on another page. The problem is, the custom homepage has info on it that I don’t want. My site is “awanderingsole.com”. I would like to create a homepage that has a Feature box (showing a snippet of my latest blog post), an area for top or favorite posts, and an area for images. I no this probably isn’t a cut and paste type of thing, but I’m hoping someone can help me get started. I found the coding in my style sheet for whats currently on the custom homepage, yet when I added my own thing to it, it didn’t show up. I don’t fully understand coding so any info to get me jump started (as in where all I need to input the code on my stylesheet) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • You are going to need some good CSS skills for your custom home page. And it may take you longer than march to do it all. Instead consider a “Land-on page”. This would be a page where you could have all the things you want in a custom page but it would have an enter site link which would lead to the full site. The reason this would be easier is because you could open a HTML editor such as RapidWever or Dreamwever. So you just draw and the CSS is written for you. Then you go into the raw CSS file and put in the wordpress PHP functions that display Posts, comments, etc.

Go here for documentation on the functions:

    I hope this helps!
