Custom Header Background Color Change

Hello,

I know I can change the header background via CSS. That’s not a problem. What I am hoping to do, however, is to add a function so the admin can change the background color via the Dashboard > Customize area, as it’s not always easy for the normal user to adjust things via CSS. I have searched several sites and I’ve found out how to change the overall background of the website, but I want to be able to just control the header background color from this function. Any help?
