Custom Gateway documentation

We don’t currently have any documentation surrounding creating a custom payment gateway addon through Give, as this is a bit of a larger undertaking.

If setting up a custom payment gateway is important to you or your organization, I recommend reaching out to a developer who specializes in the payment gateway you wish to integrate.

I’m asking for a Gateway API documentation and not documentation for the custom gateway.

Givewp should have documentation for this. I had to read stripe gateway code to know how it works internally. Which is very annoying.

The best docs we have are the built-in gateways within our code. Many developers have built custom gateways for GiveWP by reading our code and using common development practices.

Currently, you can see exactly how we built our PayPal Standard and Stripe free gateways. Or even Offline Donations if that’s relevant for your test-case.

Additionally, here’s more resources that might be helpful for you:

• Chris Flannagan wrote an article about it
• We have a GiveWP Addon boilerplate that you might like
• A third party wrote a gateway addon for their bitcoin service

Between those resources you should be on your way to making it happen relatively quickly.
