Hello – I have been having trouble getting my custom fonts loaded on one of my sites. It seemed to disappear from my plug-ins, so I reinstalled it. After having loaded new fonts, those new fonts do not show up on my customizing my theme page, or in any place I can add or change my font on a page.
Strangely, the fonts that I thought I deleted from my website are still showing up in the Imported Fonts section, but they won’t load on any part of my page. All that shows up now is Georgia font.
I’m not sure what page to even direct you to in order to clarify this. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello @histwithchar

That’s strange! Do try clearing all the caches to see if it helps.

Could you please include the screenshot of the specific section where you used those particular fonts? Also include those names.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,
    Riad

P.S. We recommend reaching out to us through our Support Portal for faster and quicker help and resolution as mentioned here.

    Hello Riad –
Thanks for the clarification on the support forum. I hadn’t seen that and just went for where I thought I could be heard. Hope I’m replying in the right place.

Are you asking me to clear my browser caches or the server cache? The latter I don’t know how to do. (Sorry, you got the less tech savvy supportee.)

So the fonts I added were Castine, CastineItalic, and Botanical Scribe.

There’s a list of other fonts like johnhancockregular and Caslon Antique that I had added from a compressed folder, although now I don’t even remember how I did that.

I made a Loom video to show you where I was having the trouble. It’s not super clear, but the second half of the video I’m in Thrive Architect editing the page directly. I hope this helps clarify my challenges.

Thanks for your help in advance! – Peyton

    Hello @histwithchar

Yes, you are correct I would like you to clear the browser cache and the website cache.

Also, I’m curious about the font’s original file. Because if you upload the correct format with the proper optimization then it should work.

We’ll need to take a closer look to see why this might be happening. Therefore, I’d request you to check whether there are any plugins installed that might be causing this?

Here is what you can do to check:

    1. Please try switching to another theme, like TwentyTwenty, and check whether the error still exists. If yes, then it is not the theme that is causing the error.

    2. Deactivate all plugins temporarily and see if that solves the error. Then, activate plugins one by one to see which plugin is causing the problem.

This is a general debugging process that all WordPress support teams perform to find 90% of the problems. Here is a video that explains the process. If you’re concerned the debugging process might break your website, you can take a quick backup of your website.

Please let me know how that goes. I will be happy to help with any further assistance you might need.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello Riad –

So I cleared the cache on my browser and on WordPress. That seems to have helped. Plus, one of my fonts was an EOT and the others were TTF. I reinstalled the EOT as a TTF, and now all the fonts I most recently installed through the Custom Fonts plug-in are accessible on the site pages themselves. The only place that I cannot access the Custom Fonts is on the Appearance>Customize>Fonts section of WordPress, to change the default fonts. It just shows “Show all fonts” (which looks like Google fonts), “Recommended Fonts Only,” “Web Safe Fonts,” and “Imported Fonts” (which only shows the first fonts I uploaded several years ago). Is Custom Fonts not intended to show up in that area, or is something amiss?
    Let me know,
    Peyton

    Hello @histwithchar

This is a very strange issue. However, I have noticed that you are using only two formats of the fonts So, I’d like to suggest you use all other formats properly.

Here you can see how it works from our end. Refer to this screencast.

Let us know how it works from your end.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    > I face this issue too. It doesn’t show up in the Customize area. Only on Elementor.

    Hello @thisroadhome

We are not sure about the path mentioned here. But unfortunately, we don’t have that path Appearance > Customize > Fonts there is no location that looks like your given direction into the Astra theme or Custom fonts plugin.

Please share some screenshots so that we can take a look and help accordingly.

Also, for quicker help and resolution we recommend opening a ticket with us through our Support Portal from here.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
