Custom filters

Hello team,
Just wondering if there was a way to customize filters, for instance adding a range of posting dates in order to display result matching this range and the searched keywords or to build a select drop down with specific keywords, category or tags?

Ok thank very much @janbrokes for your reply.
I have found a way to display filters horizontally by modifying the css of the shortcode :display: inline-block;
