I meant to say that we have categories setup in WooCommerce, not in WordPress.

    Hi @malhyp9,

Are you trying to get Yoast SEO to scan and analyze your second category description field? If you’re using the ACF plugin to add the custom fields, you can install and activate the ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin.

If you’re using another tool to add custom fields, unfortunately, adding the custom field names is not available in the free version of Yoast SEO. The article that you mentioned shows the instructions for Yoast SEO Premium.

Let us know if you had a different question.

Hi there, thanks for your help, do you know if there is any alternative to ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugin?

This plugin is crashing sites and the developer that makes it seems not to be answering posts or support tickets.

I tried installing it on a dev version of our site and it crashed, all plugins were disabled.

    Hi @malhyp9,

Sorry to hear that the plugin isn’t working on your site and not getting a response. While we’re not able to troubleshoot issues with that particular plugin, but you can try checking your error logs or checking for conflicts to see if that gives you more information.

The alternative is to use the custom fields option included in Yoast SEO Premium. If you have any questions related to the premium plugin, you’re welcome to contact us directly for further guidance.

Hi and thanks for the reply, I already have the premium version though my initial question was about it working with categories, does it work or not? I don’t see the option to apply custom fields to category attributes.

    Hello!

Yes, it does work with categories and tags. Even with custom taxonomies (public). The plugin won’t be able to detect any private custom taxonomies.
