Custom fields, relationships
-
I am very new here, actually, this is my first post. I am not even sure if this question should be here or in “Everything else WP”.
To be able to avoid trial and error, I have a question about how to create a functionality. There should be posts containing short texts, having custom field for author name, and date of publish (author name is not the name of the logged in user that posted the content and the date of publishing is not a date when the post has been created, but the date the original author created the original content). There should also be a page for every author templated in the way to list all his works (a relationship).
While researching I have installed Pods and Advanced Custom Fileds on a local test instance of WP. With ACF, while able to create custom fields I did not find how to create a relationship between posts and a page. On the other hand with Pods everything worked right away, but when I deleted a custom field created with Pods it left its section in post editor form which I had not been able to remove.
Question is, which one of these two, or a third one plugin would be best suited for my needs. I do not want to avoid learning new things, but I am not yet able to recognize shortcomings or advantages of one over the other, over some third solution in my use case.
