Custom Fields per row on Mobile

Is there anyway to force (control) the number of Custom Fields per row on mobile/tablet. I have three custom fields and have set Field per Row to 3. These appear fine on desktop. As soon as it passes the breakpoint, this drops straight down to one Custom Field per row, even though there is ample room for all three fields on one line?
