custom fields only loading one at a time?

I just upgraded from 2.9. In 2.9, once I entered a custom field, a new empty custom field would be added so I could enter another. Now for some reason it doesn’t refresh, so I have to save draft every time I enter a custom field in order to get an empty one to add. Some posts I need to add 6 or 7 custom fields and this is extremely frustrating, not to mention the crazy amount of drafts that will start clogging up my database.

I can’t find anything on the web. Is no one else having this problem? Is there a setting somewhere I don’t see? What gives??
