Custom fields not updating

    First post, sorry to be asking a question at the outset!

    I’m new to WordPress and have just encountered a problem with a site I’m working on.

    Custom fields have stopped working – Advanced Custom Fields 4.4.1 plugin. They still show in wp-admin and in the front-end web site, but I can’t update them in wp-admin. If I change the value of any field or fields and click Update the changes are lost.

    Same for Yoast SEO, existing entered data shows both in site and wp-admin but can no longer be updated.

    Only change was updating the Advanced Custom Fields plugin; but I updated it on another site as well and that is still working correctly.

    Very grateful for any advice/pointers!

    Sorted ?? The default CSS file for the custom theme was missing; FTP upload had failed. Seems that stops Yoast and custom fields from working?
