Custom fields not displaying…?

    When I edit posts or pages, I no longer see custom meta fields. Firebug says that they’re not just being hidden by css, they’re not even being printed by php. I’ve tried replacing core with a fresh copy of WordPress and deactivating all of my plugins–both didn’t work. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
