Hi i updated the plugin, i noticed that some of the custom fields i had added does not show in the listing form, i went to edit the Unique meta key and saved the changes and this message appeared:

Your site seems to be slightly misconfigured.

Carbon Fields library encountered errors that may prevent your custom fields or theme options to work properly. Here’s a quick summary of the issue:

    1. Unknown field type “listing-category”.

You might want to get in touch with a developer regarding the issue. If you feel adventurous, try enabling WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php

    can you help me out?
    thanks

    Hi @alexalp

Thanks for reporting the issue. Long story short, you have high likely created a field that you shouldn’t have been able to create. This happend because some validation rules within the fields editor failed to trigger due to the newest update to the carbon fields library broke the old validation system.

If you still have access to your website, the quickest way to to fix the issue is to wipe all your custom fields by going in Tools -> Posterno tools -> database and wipe all fields from there. Wait until the process has finished and it will restore fields back to default.

Once it’s restored back to default, you don’t need to create a “listing category” field. Posterno internally already handles that.

Remember you shouldn’t create the following fields:

    – Listing category selector
    – Social profiles selector
    – Listing tags selector
    – Opening hours

I’ll be releasing a fix on Monday

his is this already fixed? i added so many custom fields that i dont want to clear all, is there a way i can know which custom fields are the cause of this so i can delete them and recreate them?

The update has just been released. The list of fields types that cannot be used outside of the default fields are these:

    – Listing category selector
    – Social profiles selector
    – Listing tags selector
    – Opening hours

ok, thanks and will you ever add the option to delete default fields? there are default fields i wont use, rather than hiding them, i would like to delete them

At the moment you can only hide fields from the frontend forms by marking them as “admin-only” – see here https://docs.posterno.com/article/504-listings-custom-fields#t3

There currently is no plan to allow removal of the default fields from the admin panel ( listings post type page ). If more people request to remove the default fields from the post type page, I’d most definitely add an option to hide them but they’ll still be visible within the fields editor in the admin panel so they can be toggled.
