Would it be possible to use a custom field value in the post query? For instance we use a custom field to add an attribute to posts in addition to categories or tags. So we have interview, news, review etc. This is stored in the meta of each post.

I’ve seen it as an option on a few plugins, but I’m not sure how easy it would be to add?

    Hello @jwray1420 ,

It is a very good idea. We have already thought about it. Probably we will add these features to the next major update.
If you can suggest the ideas how would you like to see them on Gutentor, feel to suggest here ??

    Best Regards!

    Hi,

    Great.

Well say in a post query, at the moment you can have Category or by Tag. I’d add a custom field one, but where you can use it like a logical operator. So maybe Category B AND Custom Field == X. etc

When I’ve used this before they have usually use the meta key and value for the post to do it. Since I think this is how custom fields are stored on posts.

It is very handy and flexible feature to have.

    Thanks, and great plugin!

    Hello @jwray1420,

    Yes, I understand your concern.
I thought of displaying the post meta field on the Gutentor Posts Module.
Anyway, we will study the feasibility and try to implement following features on Gutentor:

    • Advanced Query including meta and probably other fields and query relations
    • Displaying custom meta field on Gutentor Post Templates

I don’t have an estimated date for now but of course, it is on our TODO list ??

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Best Regards!
