Custom field for "Register Project" (color picker)

Hi there,

I need to add a color picker to the project registration page and have that hex value available on the project owners’ profile page.

Is this possible? If so, it should be done via shortcode-submit.php, correct?

Any help or a push in the right direction would be much appreciated.
