custom field count() array feature

I had hoped “Counter” would sum,
count(), the amount of items in the array of a custom field but it doesn’t work that way.
I’m wondering is there a way to make the plugin do that? is that something you guys will be adding? Would be a cool feature in addition to the current Counter. Seems like others were looking for that to function as I did too.
