Custom error page does not work with permalinks

  • If I set permalinks to “postname”, chrome fails with the message:

    This page isn’t working
    thepurewinery.com redirected you too many times.
    Try clearing your cookies.
    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

    I’m trying to use a custom 403 page at the route /unavailable.
