Can you provide a guide on how to customize the error messages ? For example, when we disable the download button on single download page, it shows a default message. How can we customize these ? (even in the backend code, if it’s possible)

Thank you for reaching out to us. Are you referring to the following feature “Disable the single download page for this download item. This can be useful if you are using an addon like the?Squeeze Form.” Can you also share the warning message you see?

    Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I was referring to the below feature.

On the front end, following is the default message.

The admin of this site has disabled the download button for this page.

Just wondering whether we can customize this message ?

Thank you for sharing more information. You can use the following documentation to help you translate the default English strings. (Note: This documentation of for another plugin, but the steps can be used for any plugin or theme).

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards.

    Thanks for this documentation.

However, it mainly shows how to change the default language of a message. But my requirement is to change the text it self.

The documentation shows you how to change the default English language strings of a plugin using Loco Translate?plugin. This is what you need to do in order to change the string mentioned above.

    Kind regards.

Understood. I was hoping that I could do it without additional plugins (like changing the text in a JS file or so)

Is this the only way, even if I want to remove the message?

Unfortunately at present this is the only way to translate the string in question.

    Kind regards.

    Thanks for this solution.

Also found the php file, feeding the error message.
