I am using the plugin to add a contact form for a product. When the user submits the form, it lets us know their questions about a product. Right now, when an email notification is sent using the shortcake [contact_form], I get the format:

    Name: John Smith

    Email: john@example.com

    Time: January 10, 2018 at 12:57 pm
    IP Address: 75.157.26.184
    Contact Form URL: https://www.example.com/product/product-4/
    Sent by a unverified user.

Is there a way to customize the email notification so I could include the product name, depending on which product it is? Thanks.

    Hi @thomasjono,

This sounds like you’re trying to customize shortcake’s [contact_form] rather than Custom Product Tabs. Am I mistaken? I am not sure how this contact form works so I don’t know how we would be able to extend it. If you have any insights I can try to help though ??

    Let me know,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

I see the option to add a contact form in the tabbed content, but it looks like it has different options to customize the fields. You can add additional fields, send to multiple recipients, etc. I am also using the contact form 7 plugin, but that has its own configurations outside of the configurations attached to your plugin. Can you have a look see if you can replicate it? I like the fact that I can tailor based on product. Thanks.

    Hi Thomas,

I’m still not 100% sure how to go about this. Can you send me a URL to one of your products that has this form?

    Thanks,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

Here is the URL for one of the products that has a form:

    https://nnsl.hayriverhub.com/product/product-4/

It was in a tab from the Custom Product Tabs for Woocommerce. Much like the Add Media button in the content editor, there was also an option to Add Contact Form.

When the form is submitted, it goes to my email address to notify me of an inquiry for the product.

    Hi Thomas,

What you’re trying to do is customize Contact Form 7 not Custom Product Tabs.

There are lots of resources online on how to do dynamic fields with CF7 (here is an example: https://wptips.me/how-to-add-dynamic-values-into-contact-form-7-inputs/). I don’t have enough knowledge about CF7 to give you a complete working example and I don’t want to give you custom code that could potentially break your site.

    Sorry about that.

    All the best,
    Kevin.
