Custom email issue

Hi,
I’m having problems with sending customised emails to users once they have registered. I’ve ticked the ‘Enable Custom E-mail’ option, and written some custom text in the ‘New User’ & ‘New User Admin’ sections of the Email tab, however the standard WordPress emails still get sent once a new user has registered. Please could you advise what else I may need to do to get this to work? I do have WooCommerce running on my website, in case that matters.
