I’ve been using CF7 for ages and I think it’s great. My only gripe is that there is no option to add/create custom CSS to style things like the response messages meaning that you either have to put it in the theme stylesheet (not ideal as it’s best to keep the plugin-specific styles with the plugin itself) or you have to copy and paste it into the plugin CSS every time you run an update.

Could you have a setting to either detect and load a custom CSS file or to insert custom CSS created with the WP Admin panel? This way the changes wouldn’t get wiped every time I update the plugin!

It’s not a deal-breaker for me as I’ll still be using CF7 but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

  • It’s poor practice to make any changes directly in any of the plugins files as they will be lost whenever you update the plugin.

Modifying your theme CSS, via a childtheme, is a common and accepted way of modifying a plugins CSS to work within the design of a particular theme.

If you are looking to avoid modifying your theme CSS, you could use one of the custom CSS pl?ugins available.
