• Hi there. I wanted to use different types of pages, especially portfolio pages for photos. I saw i needed to activate portfolios in settings>writing>your custom content types. But the “your custom conent types” part is missing on the writing settings page. The last thing on that page is the ‘update service’. I see this problem nowhere on the internet, except for 1 person asking this on wordpress.com, where he gets directed to this site with his question.

    (my theme is Fukasawa)

    Thank you very much!

  • Your best bet is to post in that themes support forum dedicated to providing support to the users:

I just installed it and checked the settings > writing page, and I see a setting for ‘Default Post Format’ and directly off of the Fukasawa site :

    Post format support
Fukasawa includes support for the image, video and gallery formats, and presents your galleries in a beautiful slideshow above your posts. Regular old posts look great as well.

Thanks for checking. Choosing a different default does not give a portfolio section in WordPress. And i just installed a few other themes and in all of them i also dont get the ‘your custom content types’ section in writing settings.

That functionality is apart of the theme. WordPress does not come with a ‘portfolio’ post type by default.

I Tried a few other themes, all with a manual with in the beginning a sentence like:
‘navigate to portfolios>add new’. I dont have that option after intalling any theme. I als dont have the option “your custom content types”.

I also looked at portfolio plugins, but it looks like they will change the look of the grid etc of the theme (photos, becuse i never managed to make any grid where the themes advertise with).

Could it be that something happened to wordpress, and it wont accept the installs of the portfolio settings and options?

    Thanks

According to this WordPress does now come with portfolio as a built in option. But I can’t find it either.

www.remarpro.com and WordPress.com are not the same.. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I ran across this post while trying to figure out the same problem. I’ve found the solution so I thought I would share.

The option for “Your Custom Content Types” found under settings>writing only appears if you have setup jetpack and activated that feature.
