Custom Code

Hi, I am new to WordPress. I am using the Twenty Twenty Four Theme, it is advisable to create a child theme? I am trying to edit the way in which the woo single product details page displays, I want to remove the header from showing when I click each tab. I also want to make the tabs display in an accordion format. Therefore to make this affordable, I am assuming adding some custom code would be best. Do I need a child theme? Thanks
