Custom client product reference

Hi Guys,

I am thinking about a better way for our clients to order directly through a website rather than a traditional method we have currently of customers sending a PO through email and us having to manually input an order through a different system.

A lot of our clients have their own product codes for items we sell which they use to order which makes it easier on their end to decipher what our product is and where it is stored/used on their end. I am hoping that there could be a way to create a sort of client portal that could allow users to have a custom product reference field against a specific product so that when they are searching they can just use their reference to find what they need as a quicker way of ordering.

It must be possible to create this kind of thing as we purchase some products through a supplier of ours using our ‘client codes’.

If anyone can let me know if this is something they think is possible or how to achieve it would be much appreciated.
