Custom category does not display custom posts

    I’ve created a custom post type for FAQs. I can view on the site the custom posts I’ve created. This appears to work ok but when I got to view front end all FAQs associated to a custom category it doesn’t display anything. In fact when I’m in the backend admin where it lists all the custom posts, if I click on any the categories associated to a post it take me through to an empty list where on normal posts it will change to list just those posts associated to that category.
