    Hi,

What is the difference between Categories (WP Core) and Custom Categories?
When I select custom categories nothing happens. I have added a new custom post called treatments. I want to set some categories, but I dont’ want these categories to appear in my blog post categories, is this possible?

    Thanks

Basically “Categories (WP Core)” is going to be the “category” taxonomy that WordPress comes with by default. Any listing you see for “Categories” or some other variation is going to be a custom taxonomy that has a similar label. If you don’t want your terms mixed in with the WP Core category terms, I’d recommend against setting that one as an associated taxonomy, and to use something else instead.

How the chosen taxonomy behaves and displays on the frontend may need to be customized/tailored to fit your needs, for what it’s worth.

Hi @vysakhnair, can you please start a new forum thread for your question. This way we don’t “muck” up the original topic here.

    Thanks.

Categories (WP Core) doesn’t seem to work anyway. If you add this to your custom post type and then add posts to some categories when browsing the categories on the front end you will get the following error:

    Nothing Found
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.
