    Hi there,

I am starting this topic here after couple of weeks banging my head in the wall and nothing worked for me, even the advice of Cristian (from the s2m support) and the similar topics I found here.

I am running a site for paid subscribers with BuddyPress, bbPress and s2member plugins installed.

All is fine, but one thing: all new users and coming to the site after registration without custom capabilities, even thought they exist in the s2m button shortcode and even in the s2m log file.

    Here is the scenario:
    – we are driving traffic to the sales page.
    – on this sales page there is a button generated from s2m
    – after checking out with PayPal users are back for registration (buddypress + custom registration fields)
    – Once completed users are able to login to their accounts and access the downloads.

And here the problem comes: none of these newly registered users have CCAPS assigned, so I am not able to serve them the different downloads.

The last thing I’ve tried was to downgrade the s2m plugin to lower version, but still no luck.

If someone have anything to add to the topic, please DO!
We are holding back our launch for a third week now and I am wondering what to do…

    Appreciate your help!

    Best,
    Stefan

  • Well, I don’t want simply to offer you advice that Cristian has already given, so could you outline what he said?

There is incompatibility between BuddyPress and S2Member which cause this malfunction. It’s a pity that these two great plugins are not working properly both together…

The way around I found was to disable the BP registration page and use a standard WP login page with additional registration fields provided by s2m.

I hope this will help to someone else who is struggling As I was.

I also hope that this ticket will be taken in consideration from the s2m developers and they will fix that in future updates, so we (the customers) could take advantage of these features.

    Best,
    Stefan

    Have you solved this issue?

    yes, I have.

As I’ve described above the solution was to disable the BuddyPress registrations and use the default WP sign up page in combination with registration/profile fields provided by S2M.

    That did it!
