Custom author page not working well

    That tutorial you referenced has a comment form near the bottom. My suggestion would be to ask there so the tutorial writer can help you with this.

    In the second method, it looks like you used the offered code in its entirety. You should start with a copy of the theme’s archive.php and only replace the part between the get_header(); and get_sidebar() lines with the offered code. I suggest replacing even less than that. I’d only replace the archive loop code to start with. Remove any other undesirable content once the rest of the page is working as expected.

    Also the admin user’s profile data seems to be sparsely populated. Be sure its user_description field contains bio data and its email is one registered at gravatar.com to have a custom avatar.
