custom archive view

  • how do I create yearly archive of all posts without creating archive page in twentysixteen child theme? ( i don’t want to add archive page to my menu)

    I want to output link to that archive at the bottom of my index.php.

    archive should have following format:

    YEAR

    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy
    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy
    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy

    YEAR

    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy
    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy
    post title and link to single post dd/mm/yy
