    Hi,

I have created a CPT called recipe and taxonomy called cuisine.

when I search for a certain CPT(some-recipe), it shows up on the search results page but without taxonomies.

when I search for cuisine taxonomy, the results are not found.

This issue is only happening with CPT’S on the search results page

Is there a way to index or (query) CPT’S taxonomies and tags and make them appear on the search results page?

I’m using the default WordPress search.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Trying to make sure I’m following correctly.

You’re trying to find recipes based on the terms assigned to the recipe? For example, if wanted to search for a taxonomy term of “chili”, I should get various chili recipes, but nothing is showing up?

If that’s the case, by default WordPress doesn’t search assigned terms for various taxonomies, at least not by default. It does search post title and post content. I know there’s custom solutions out there that can expand what gets searched.

    Hi,

Exactly what I’m looking for. Can you point me in that direction?

Probably the best solution for that then, is going to be something like SearchWP which does state they search extra areas like custom fields and taxonomy terms.

Only potential downside so to speak is that it is a premium plugin, but from everything I’ve always seen, it’s worth its weight on this topic.
