Cursor Jumping on AutoSave

  • In the new editor, the page will “auto” save, which jumps the cursor to the top of the page. Extremely hard to type or do anything.
    What Happens
    Typing a paragraph, page auto-saves – jumping the cursor to the beginning of the block, so the typing starts up there.
    Temp fix – if I use the update function and leave the message at the top of the page, it will not auto-jump. However, the message covers 1/2 of the editing tools block. Need to close it before using the top tools, and if I am not fast enough, will auto-save and move the cursor from the desired spot (ie: place I am editing) to the top of the block.

  • We are experiencing the same problem. It began shortly after updating to WP 5.0. And autosave is occurring every 15 seconds so it is nearly impossible to use. The only workaround has been to type our content in a different editor and then paste it into the blocks. That is unacceptable.

    Having the same problem, this renders the editor unusable indeed.

    I am having the same problem. It is sooooo hard to write a post!

    WORDPRESS PLEASE HELP!!! Same issue here. I have wasted hours trying to figure this out!!
