• UPDATE: The culprit seems to be the way the rich text editor scrolls. The table that displays the word count/status at the bottom seems to overlap the bottom of the editor div. If I hide that using Firebug, the problem goes away… at the cost of not seeing that info.

    This started happening in 4.0 (I think) and it’s driving me nuts.

    In Text mode.

    When I am on the last line of the editing window and the cursor moves to the next line, instead of the ‘viewport’ scrolling up to show that next line, the cursor disappears. Apparently it is going to next line… it’s just that the next line BELOW the visible editor box.

    So I end up using PgUp and PgDn all the time to move the window back to where I can see the cursor.

    (I hope I’m making sense.)

    I haven’t seen this sort of goofy behaviour since the bad old days of MS-DOS… where this was common with ‘text boxes’.

    I can’t give a link to a ‘site’ since it’s in the editor, but I’ve checked this on several WP installs where I have editing privileges and it seems to be the same everywhere.

    NOTE: This does -not- seem to be a problem in Visual Mode. Just Text Mode… which is what I use all the time.

    Is this correctable?
