• I would love a plugin for WMP9 (or winamp, but preferably WMP9) that maybe uses the links function of wordpress, or a similar function to list what I’m listening to, properly linked to allmusic.com if possible and with options for showing the album cover or merely the last X tracks.
I know it’s probably not going to happen, but I thought I’d throw it out there.
(Yes, I know about the plugin that hooks into w.bloggar, but it’s too much of a hazzle and of course not updating constantly).

  • Why not hack in BlogAmp? Won’t do Windows, but it works well for Winamp <3.
The javascript is easily edited, otherwise all you need is FTP.

I have a script that puts what I’m listening to in a MySQL table with some information from the ID3 tag. I’ve been meaning for a while to break it down and make it Winamp3 compatible, tie in to the Amazon API, and connect it to my posts. Since a timestamp is attached to each song a cross-table query could just take the post time and grab the song that was last playing before the post timestamp. It could even say how many times I’ve listened to that song, when, how many songs I’ve listened to by that artist, etc. However, I’ve been busy, so I don’t know when (or if) this’ll happen. It would be a neat plugin.

My God, Please not Winamp 3! ?? If anything, WMP9 (which IMO is way superior) or WA2.

The problem is the DoSomething plugin for WA2 doesn’t read ID3v2 information. A different plugin that could “ping” a URL would solve that problem.

    How about Winamp 5?

    any news on this?

I wrote one that uses winamp5 and the dosomething plugin. Check it out in action at https://www.mrburnz.org
