Current theme to child theme?

  • Okay, here goes, I have been using the theme twenty fourteen for a while now with various plugins, I now want to make changes, custom post templates etc. I now realise that every time I update, which I need to so I can keep up with security updates etc, I have to re-upload a few different pages of php code. I now realise it will require me to use a child theme, how do I go about making my current set up a child theme?
