Hi, just wondering if this plugin is still supported? Should it work with WordPress 3.5?

I just tried it, and after creating the new folders on the server first, and then setting them up in the plugin’s Settings page, I tried to move an image from the default location to a new folder, by going to the image’s Edit Media page and selecting the new folder from the menu there. However, after I clicked Update, nothing changed – the image remained in the initial folder.

Is the plugin supposed to actually move the image file itself (on the server) to the new folder, or am I supposed to do that manually?

In any case, the image link didn’t change either. I guess it doesn’t work with WordPress 3.5. But it would be great if the developer could check and update it – this is seriously exactly the functionality I’ve been looking for – the ability to have different types of media saved into different folders! I’m not aware of any other plugin that can do this. ??

STATUS UPDATE: Alan had some changes in a “development” version 0.21 that I’m testing with WP versions 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 3.61 and then I will push it out. I hope to do this in the next few days.

STATUS UPDATE: Although I wanted to push out Alans last beta version there’s an issue with how WordPress stores the full path to the image in the database that I’m working on. They didn’t really plan for people to move the images to different folders. I think I’ve figured a way around this and I’m testing a solution and will implement it into the plugin as soon as possible.

This week I’m really busy with family stuff (my daughter is getting married on Friday) so I won’t have anything ready until next week at the earliest. I apologize for the delay but I won’t subject anyone to buggy software if I can help it.

I plan on closing all the other support threads since they are old and hopefully those issues will be addressed. I’ve already closed the ones older than a year and I will close this one last and then we can start fresh. The next version will be 0.3.0 as it is more than just minor coding.

    Thank you for you patience!

Thank you so much. you should put a paypal donate please ??

I’ve gone ahead and pushed out the last version (0.21) that Alan was working on. This fixes the problem where the folder dropdown was not showing in the media edit screen in newer versions of WordPress. I’ve tested it with versions 3.3 to 3.61 and haven’t found any additional problems.

There are still a few bugs I was working on but I haven’t had the time to fix them all yet. I wanted to get something out there for you all since you’ve been waiting so long for an update.

The biggest problem is if you relocate a file to another folder, and then later want to move it back to the “default” folder it doesn’t work. It’s a bit tricky because of media folder options but I’m close to figuring it out.

I’m going to close this thread and we’ll all start with a clean slate. Please start a new thread with any new suggestions or bugs.

    Thanks!
