    Hi,

2 of 3 sites that use 1.24.4 version of UpdraftPlus recently failed to send files to Google Drive. Please note that these sites have been setup for Google Drive sends and had been working for years already seamlessly.

This is the error that the log shows in both cases: “Google Drive: ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (cURL error 28: Failed to connect to auth.updraftplus.com port 443 after 5202 ms: Couldn’t connect to server) (http_request_failed)”

Other sites (using 2.24.4.0 version) and other sites (different host provider than the problematic two) still sending to Google Drive correctly.

Please advise how to debug further.

    Thank you and kind regards,

    Attila

    Hi Attila,

The cURL error is normally related to server level security module settings such as mod_security.
In this case it’s necessary to contact the hosting server admin to ask them to allow connections.

This is also a probable cause for the Google Drive error, both errors would imply server changes.
It’s often the case that after server admin changes users need to reauthorize their Google Drive.

These are my first observations based on the info you provided. A log file could prove helpful.
If you could use a service like PasteBin to include a log file in your reply I can investigate further.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi Attila,

Thank you for the log file. It doesn’t show any additional problems to the two you described.
I would suggest you ask your hosting about a security module correction to allow connection.

Once this has been corrected reauthorize your Google Drive and attempt to run a new backup.
Should you still encounter problems please provide a log file so we can inspect the issue again.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

The host provider released UpdraftPlus’ domain on the server(s) so that the backup (sending to Google Drive) is working again.

    Thank you and kind regards,

    Attila
