    Hello,

so I am getting this error message all the time.

Ryte: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

If I deactivate Yoast it just disappear if I activate it will be back again. I tried to talk with my host provider but I have everything updated and they recommnded to install query monitor. This is result.

    &yseo_version=15.8

cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

    WPSEO_Ryte_Request->get_remote()

    Plugin: wordpress-seo

I installed WP Cron Status Checker and I got this email deaily or every other day:

While trying to spawn a call to the WP-Cron system, the following error occurred:
cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 3000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

If I google some keywords I am still on top with some of them and if I goole new content I can find it too somewhere in the back.

So what can I do. It really bothers me to be honest.

    Thanks

  • Hi!

We can see you’re having a Curl 28 error. This means that your server was unable to communicate to Ryte.com within the set time limit. This can be caused by, for example, a very slow webhost or a firewall. We partner with Ryte to provide a courtesy check. Your homepage is still getting indexed as it appears in Google HERE.

Since this is a server-issue, we cannot fix this for you. Please contact your webhost to investigate why your server is unable to communicate with Ryte.com. They may need to adjust settings or whitelist Ryte.com. This guide also explains more about how to whitelist RyteBot: https://en.ryte.com/bot/. They’ll also need to ensure your server meets our plugin and curl requirements. This guide explains more about the requirements: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/

In the meanwhile, please note the Yoast SEO plugin will work well despite that notification.

Do you think that incerase this timeout is okay? 5s is to low for my web probably.

    Thanks

    Hello,

After the increase, is the notification resolved? Also, this is an error that does not influence your site rank in any way. We’ve seen this a few times, and usually, it self resolves when the communication path is open and accessible.
