    Hi
I like to try your plugin’s concept and want to try it. But when I install your plugin, it caused problem in my website. When I try to install or update any other plugins, I get the following message:
” Download Problem: cURL communication error 77 Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?)”.
If I uninstall your plugin, everything works fine. Hope you guys can resolve this issue.

    Hi @tiwit,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you are having trouble there!

The error you have mostly caused by SSL certificate(s) for cURL installed on your server are missing or broken. Usually, that’s because the certificate(s) is outdated.

There are several ways to fix this error such as restarting web server software like Apache, upgrading PHP or installing the ca certificate again. Unfortunately, only your host can do it for you. In this case, could you please get in touch with your host regarding this issue?

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Okky

    Hi Okky,
Thank you so much for your prompt reply and suggestions.

But unfortunately, it is still not working and here is my feed back, thinking that it might help to pinpoint the issue.

    1. I do not have any SSL certificate installed.
    2. I contacted my host provider and they told me clearly that it is a plugin related issue.
    3. Most important point is, if I reinstall your plugin the error message is displayed every time I try to update or install the plugins. If I uninstall your plugin, the problem is solved. And there are no other plugins which is causing such issue.

I hope this might be helpful to you !

    Hi @tiwit,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The SSL I mentioned is cURL SSL. So it doesn’t matter if your site has SSL certificate installed or not. cURL SSL is managed by your hosting and you can’t do anything with it.

Could you please let me know if you are using the Premium version or not? Also, could you please check your cURL version? You should be able to get the information by creating a phpinfo.php file. This page should give you more idea about it: https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204643880/how-can-i-create-a-phpinfo.php-page.

Could you please check the Timed Email Offers (and Timed Email Offers Premium if you have it) version, and if the plugins you have are indeed our plugins?

Looking forward to your reply ??

    Thanks,
    Okky

    Thank you Okky.
As I wrote before, my hosting provider told me they cannot do anything on this, so let’s forget about them.
No, I am not using your premium version. I am using free version 1.2.2 available in www.remarpro.com from Rymera Web Co and I believe it’s your plugins.

Your plugin looks interested and just wanted to test before I buy premium but so far I could not do it.

    Thank you anyway.

    Hi @tiwit,

Upon reviewing it again, I believe this is indeed a server issue as we can’t reproduce this issue and Timed Email Offers doesn’t have cURL command in it.

This error is a server side error. It means that the chain certificate files are missing or “broken”. Usually, this is caused simply by outdated SSL certificate(s) for cURL installed on the server but may as well be caused by wrong or “incomplete” configuration.

SSL cert for cURL is different than the cert that you use for the site so this is something that your host should be able to fix.

I also found people with the same issue on another forum, and all was resolved by the host (upgrading PHP to 7.0). You can see them here:

I hope this makes sense ??

    Thanks,
    Okky
