cURL 60 Error – unable to retrieve bucket list

Hi Brad,
First of all, thanks for building such a promising plugin – I’m really hoping we can solve this problem so we can try it out with our set-up!
Everything seems to work perfectly on our local server, but as soon as the installation is on a remote server we are receiving this error on the Amazon S3 and CloudFront settings page:
Error retrieving a list of your S3 buckets from AWS: [curl] 60: [url] https://s3.amazonaws.com/(See here for a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5125iuvz14lk3xf/Screen%20Shot%202014-01-13%20at%2017.24.34.png)
After searching various results on Google, the fix seems to point towards configuring cURL to accept any server certificate, because Amazon do not have a valid SSL.

Have you heard of any other issues regarding the error retrieving the bucket list?
