    Hello. A new file appeared in my wp-admin directory: php_errorlog. In it are about 100 lines of cryptic errors, most (but not all) pointing to BackWPUp files, e.g.

    ('7???&??X??1???t', 'wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/guzzlehttp/guzzle/src/Guzzle/Common/Exception/ExceptionCollection.php', 1, '\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0', ' 7o-???&?h??R=?', '??X?Y}????N??">C??:?%l*?IgY', '', 0, '?'),

    Could this be a file created by your plugin? If so, what information does it hold? And can I disable it?

    I have PHP debugging disabled on my site. When it is enabled it saves the log file to /wp-content/error_log.

    I think the issue related to PHP encoding, please contact your hoster and tell them there is a file write encoding issue.

    Also, about the log, I think it’s a warning thrown from GuzzleHttp, maybe it kind of connection timeout issue I think :/

    I already contacted them (SiteGround). They said it wasn’t written by them, and suggested I ask you. Thoughts on that?

    yes, but I mean could you please ask them if why these characters were written in an unreadable format like this ( normally that duo to server charset issue ). And I think the warning in the log did not happen usually, right? since it was kind of network issue

    That’s correct. The entries in the log file are all from one day, and have not re-occurred. So maybe it was a one-time thing. I’ll note this for later and monitor it. We can consider this resolved.
