Curious and somewhat random editing behaviour of old posts

    Having succesfully imported by archives from Blogger I’m engaged in the process of cleaning up the code and making some general edits to the writing itself.

    However, as the topic title explains I have encountered a weird problem with only some of my posts. These posts are stubbornly refusing to save any edits and when I attempt to do so, I’m redirected to my home page.

    I stress this is only happening with a handful of posts and try as I might I cannot see any commonality between them that would explain why they do this. Most posts are editing just fine which makes this random refusal quite frustrating.

    I’m using the latest version of WordPress and Firefox. I’ve also spent a fair bit of time trawling past forum links on this subject but nothing as yet explains my particular problem.

    Your thoughts are very welcome.

  • 2 things I could suggest:

    1) Check your web server’s error logs after you get one that won’t save.

    2) Check with your host to see if they’re running mod_security.

    Thank you so much for responding. I’m conversing with my host at present and it looks like it may indeed be something to do with having mod_security enabled. Whatever the cause, I hope it’s resolved soon and I’m grateful for the pointer.
