• Hi. First of all, thanks for this plugin! It is nicely designed, and allowed me to have file uploads in my form when the default CF7 file uploader would not work!

    I’m curious about the “Fix spam” setting. Before I checked this option, I was getting a spam message from CF7. Checking the box did fix that, thanks! I’d like to know if this disables ALL CF7 spam messages, and perhaps even CF7’s checks for spam, or if it only overrides the messages caused by the file uploader.

    Are there any security issues involved, and if so, do you have any recommendations on mitigating those?

    Does checking the “Fix spam” checkbox open me up to more spam?

    Hi @hommealone ,

    I have incorporated a checkbox feature that pertains to the Contact Form 7. Whenever CF7 identifies a message as spam (indicated by an orange border) I’m overriding it and force to send the message.

    If you are receiving a spam message in your email try to improve your subject and your (from:) email it should match the domain name.

    Please let me know.

    Does your override apply only when it identifies the message as spam because of the file upload or does it override all CF7 spam identification, for any reason?

    If it disables ALL spam identification, that’s a rather heavy-handed solution. In most cases, the CF7 identification of spam is a good thing which I’d hate to lose.

    Can you think of any other way that I could stop CF7 from blocking the submissions when there’s a file upload, but continue to allow it to identify other spam?

    @hommealone I only override the spam filter when Contact Form 7 identifies a message as spam. This filter is triggered only in cases where spam is detected.

    – I believe the reason for the message being rejected could be due to the attachment, or it could be that the email server is rejecting the message. However, I am not an expert in this matter.

    I have not encountered any issues like this with our other users or customers, except for a few isolated cases.

    This is very disappointing, and probably a deal-breaker for me. The convenience of this plugin for the visitor is not worth stopping all CF7 spam checks.

    More specifically, when I use the standard CF7 [file] fields, CF7 does NOT flag the message as spam. It only flags the message as spam when I use the [mfile] tag instead. Even though I am sending the exact same files in both cases.

    So it is not the files themselves that CF7 finds suspicious. And it is not the subject line or “from” address. Those are also the same whether I am using an mfile tag or a simple file tag.

    Surely there must be something else making CF7 suspicious? What else could that be? I’d very much like to be able to use your plugin!
