Curios search results

  • Hi,

    Really awesome plugin, thank you.

    The site I’m currently building <https://cbhstg.wpengine.com/&gt; is producing some curious search results. If I search for “Birmingham” I get no results, even though there are a number of hotels near Birmingham. If I search for “Sutton Coldfield” I do get the results with all the Birmingham hotels listed.

    Also, if I search for “Yorkshire” I get no results, but if I search for “West Yorkshire” I do.

    Any ideas?

    You are welcome.

    You need to be more specific when entering an address. Birmingham is also a city in Alabama US. When you enter only a city and that city is also exists in the US Google API by default will geocode the city that is in the us.
    Try and enter “Birmingham UK” and you will see that you will get results. Or by giving a wider radius value ( example ) you can see that the Birmingham city of the US is the one that Google is looking for.

    You can try to overcome this issue using the country code in the settings page of GEO my WP.

    Hey there,

    Sadly that suggestions doesn’t work. I took the plunge and got an API key just in case that helped but sadly not.

    Do you have any other ideas?
