    @ilyapokrov If you want to make the breadcrumb path shorter so that it takes up less space, you can edit the breadcrumb title. We have a guide on how to do this available here: https://yoast.com/help/change-breadcrumb-title/

    Also, if you wish to change the full breadcrumb pathway, you can also accomplish that by using the developer filter wpseo_breadcrumb_links.

    You can find more information on this in our article on implementing breadcrumbs, as well as some examples of customizations of the breadcrumbs here: https://gist.github.com/amboutwe/ea0791e184668a5c7bd7bbe357c598e9

    @devnihil,
    No, I don’t want that. I want the breadcrumbs to be displayed in full, but take up as much space as needed. So that there is no shift in the layout.

    Hi @ilyapokrov,

    Although Yoast SEO generates the breadcrumb links, the issue is related to changes to the layout. From what we understand about how the Cumulative Layout Shift is measured, Yoast SEO doesn’t do things like load breadcrumbs dynamically or change them after the page loads.

    Since the layout and styles for the breadcrumbs are controlled by your theme, have you tried to solve the problem using CSS or by controlling the breadcrumb container’s dimensions? If you need further help to change your page templates or styles, you may be able to get some guidance by contacting your theme developer.
