    Hi,

I’m having some problems during the configuration of my S3-Compatible (Generic) space with Cubbit DS3 service.

I tried a lot of possible solutions with Cubbit Swarm Official Support Team, but everytime that I test a possible right configuration I receive this warning from the browser:

S3-Compatible (Generic) test result settings: Error: Access to bucket obtained, but attempt to create a file in it failed. Check your login credentials.
(UpdraftPlus_S3::putObjectO: [6] Could not resolve host: backup-isamec- old.https; Unknown error)

This morning checking the situation Cubbit Swarm Official Support Team told me:

Analysing the logs in our backend, no API calls ever arrived on your dedicated bucket called backup-isamec-old except those from our web console, so the connection is blocked first for other reasons.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thank you for your message. Have the support team provided the correct credentials to use for the Generic S3 remote storage location in terms of all of the fields such as location, end-point, bucket access style and signature version?

    Hi,

Yes, team support provided me the right end-point (that is: https://s3.cubbit.eu) and location (only the name of interested bucket, in my case backup-isamec-old).

    Also they told me:

Cubbit DS3 supports all required configurations, the signature can be either V2 or V4, and the URL can be either virtual host or path.

We suggest trying V4 and virtual host as it is the most recent method.

P.S. API keys are correct and autonomously created from Cubbit DS3 web backend.

    Hello,

Thank you for confirming this. I have recreated the issue with my own account and escalated this to the development team for further analysis. I will provide an update as soon as possible.

    Hello,

Thank you for your patience. Please could you try again and this time remove https:// from the endpoint leaving only s3.cubbit.eu. Along with this please choose the Virtual-host style bucket access and SigV4 signature version.

I have verified that these settings work for Cubbit DS3 with my own account (connecting through UpdraftPlus).

We are currently working on a tweak to remove the https:// part of the end-point value automatically to make it less confusing for users.

    Hi,

Thanks for your precious support and now I can confirm that all works fine with suggested tips. After settings test the browser now says:

S3-Compatible (Generic) test result settings: Success: Access to the bucket obtained, and files could be created within it. Communication with s3.cubbit.eu was encrypted.

I am also glad that you are working on a tweak to make it easier to enter the end-point correctly.

    Have a nice day,

    Best regards
