cta buttons and drop down menus

  • I have installed Tesserat Theme & WordPress using Linux. I have been having lots of problems with getting the call to action button to divert to a page. Also the drop down menus don’t divert either, I get error message 404 (page not found)
    While I am new to making a web site, I have learned a lot through trial and error. But this problem has been haunting me in my sleep, I have been at it since November!!! HELP PLEASE
    One more thing how do I activate my site? If I log in as a prospective buyer the message is ‘site under construction’
