csv import not working

Hi,
I had previously gotten this plugin to work perfectly. However after trying to re-upload a new database of participants with csv file I get the following message:
The file GNL-ELEVEN-Players-Website.csv has been uploaded.
File upload complete: 115 lines received.
The data is importing in the background, refresh the page to get the current status of the import.If I remember correctly, I used to get an additional success message when I refresh the page that says “115 records added / updated”. I’m not getting this anymore.. And when I go to the list participants tab I see 0 participant records. It’s as if the file uploads successfully with no errors, but no participants are actually added.
My import settings are set to “create new”
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not quite sure what I’m doing wrong, as this used to work a couple months ago when uploading csv files. Our file structure hasn’t changed at all and based on the success message I get it seems like the lines were received correctly.
