I’m trying to do a CSV import into a new multisite instance.

Upload of the csv works fine. The columns get mapped. Click on import and I get a 403 forbidden. All permissions etc have been checked. Ive tried with all other plugins disabled and still get the same 403. Nothing in the server error that I can see. I can get the host to look further if I can ask them what to look for.

    Any ideas ?

    Hi @oldlock ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are receiving a 403 forbidden error when importing a CSV.

Firstly, please could you clarify if you are using the default WooCommerce product import tool found when navigating to Products > All Products > Import or if you are using a plugin for the imports?

Additionally, have you checked the formatting matches what’s expected?
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/wiki/Product-CSV-Import-Schema#csv-columns-and-formatting

I understand that you have disabled all plugins and the issue persists, however, should you be using the core import tool, and have the correct formatting, please could you try a full conflict test to rule out any conflicts by temporarily changing your theme to the default Storefront theme, and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce to see if the issue is still present when trying to import the CSV?

If the conflict test resolves the issue, please reactivate your current theme, and check if the issue returns, if not then you can enable each plugin, one by one, checking after each to find the culprit.

If none of the above resolves the issue, kindly share a copy of the following:

System status report: found via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.
Fatal error log: Share a copy of any fatal error logs found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs

You may paste your response here once you have these.

    Thanks!

    Hi @oldlock

Click on import and I get a 403 forbidden

The 403 forbidden error is mostly caused due to permission issues as you have correctly figured out.

Can you please try the solutions provided in this comprehensive article? https://www.dreamhost.com/blog/how-to-fix-403-forbidden-error-wordpress/

If the problem remains unresolved, please include a copy of your site’s System Status in your response. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
