Hello. How can we leave import fields by default without assigning columns? It is easier for us to select several necessary import fields than to disable unnecessary ones

Sorry, but I’m not sure if I get the full picture. Could you provide more details/examples?

By default, the importer attempts to map the columns to product fields.

If you wish to exclude certain fields, you can simply remove them from the CSV file. When you import it, these columns won’t be imported, as illustrated in the screenshot below.

We use a third-party online store analyzer to generate products in a CSV file, and by default it unloads all woocommerce columns, even those with nothing in them. We mainly use the ID, Type, Article, Title, Published, Description, Available?, Promotion, Regular Price, Images, External URL.

We should mark all other fields with “Do not import” or a dash every time, it would be more convenient for us to leave the matched columns ID, Type, Article, Title, Published, Description, In stock?, In stock, Regular price, Images, External URL, in the remaining fields by default, check the box “Do not import”. If this is not possible, then we need to make all the fields “Do not import” or “dash” by default

    Hi @adio93

Currently, WooCommerce doesn’t provide an option to set default values for CSV import fields. Each time you import a CSV, you will need to match the columns from your file to the appropriate WooCommerce product fields.

However, you can expedite this process by ensuring that your CSV file only includes the columns you need (ID, Type, Article, Title, Published, Description, In stock?, In stock, Regular price, Images, External URL). This way, you’ll have fewer fields to match during the import process.

If you frequently import products and find this process cumbersome, you might consider hiring a developer to create a custom import script. This script could automatically match your specific columns and set all other fields to “Do not import”.

Alternatively, you can try importing using another plugin, such as All in All WP Import, Product CSV Import Suite, or Import Export Suite for WooCommerce.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
